Matt Wallace is a proven technology and operations leader with more than 20 years of experience helping financial institutions modernize their platforms, scale efficiently, and strengthen risk management. As EVP and Chief Information Officer at PCBB, he leads the company’s technology strategy for community financial institutions, focusing on core banking modernization, data and analytics, AI and automation, cybersecurity, and a growing ecosystem of fintech and vendor partnerships designed to help customers compete and innovate. Matt is a trusted partner to executives and boards of directors looking to align technology investments with growth, customer experience, and regulatory expectations.

Before joining PCBB, Matt served as EVP and CIO at The Bancorp, leading application development, IT infrastructure and security, AI programs, robotics process automation, fraud management, and project management for a team of more than 200 technology professionals across the US. Earlier in his career, Matt held multiple senior leadership roles at Bank of America, including SVP positions overseeing card issuance, risk, and strategy, and large transition programs following acquisitions.

Matt holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from Penn State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Villanova University. He is also a co‑inventor on several issued patents related to electronic authentication, on‑demand resource delivery, and secure virtual credentials. Matt has additional financial services patents filed and in process, reflecting his commitment to practical innovation in financial technology.
