VP, Product Manager Profitability

Summary Job Description:
The Product Manager – Profitability leads the strategy, development, and optimization of profitability solutions for financial institutions. This role leverages advanced data analytics, financial modeling, user-centric design, and cross-functional collaboration within fast-paced, tech-driven, and highly regulated environments. This role drives innovation and profitability for financial institutions, blending deep expertise in financial institution profitability and fintech SaaS with strong technical, analytical, and leadership skills. The Product Manager is responsible for developing high-impact, customer-centric solutions that combine compliance, emerging technology, and rapid iteration. Success is measured by the ability to align business strategy, user experience, regulatory requirements, and cutting-edge digital product management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1.  Whole Product Strategy and Roadmap:
  • Develop and communicate a data-driven, three-year strategic roadmap for Profitability FIT, leveraging advanced analytics, market intelligence, and customer research to anticipate industry, regulatory, and tech trends.
  • Anticipate and integrate evolving compliance frameworks and digital regulations, such as RegTech, into product planning and delivery. 
  • Define actionable product specifications, technical user stories, and acceptance criteria tailored for agile teams, bridging business and engineering perspectives.
  •  Proactively apply user research, experience design, and usability testing to deliver value-driven, customer-first enhancements.
  • Ensure that whole product actions, including pricing, contracts, service delivery, marketing collateral, and other components as needed, are consistent with product features and support business objectives. 
  • Lead data-driven negotiations for internal service level agreements. 

2.  Solution Development, Implementation and Deployment:
  • Lead agile, end-to-end product development, ensuring robust data integration, API-first architecture, and deployment across cloud-native and SaaS environments.
  • Use fast prototyping, MVP development, and continuous delivery methodologies to innovate and iterate rapidly.
  • Guide internal and external teams in technology evaluation (including AI/ML, automation, advanced analytics), addressing debt and driving secure, scalable solutions. 
  • Oversee user acceptance testing, gather actionable feedback using data and A/B testing, and iterate for optimal user experience, profitability, and adoption.
  • Ensure development best practices are followed. 
  • Continue Profitability FIT’s support of other PCBB products. 
  • Manage operational and cyber risks in close collaboration with compliance and IT.  
3.  Product Performance and Optimization:
  • Monitor key performance indicators and metrics to evaluate product performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions. 
  • Gather feedback, address concerns, and prioritize product enhancements by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
4.  Stakeholder Management and Collaboration: 
  • Translate complex product and technical requirements across diverse internal and external partners, both technical and non-technical.
  • Build effective go-to-market partnerships with Advisors, sales, and marketing teams to enhance customer acquisition and engagement.
  •  Lead cross-functional training and change management to support adoption of new features and digital workflows.
  • Collaboratively, align product vision and priorities with stakeholders to drive business objectives. 
  • Conduct training sessions with stakeholders to ensure successful product adoption.

Skills Required:
  • In-depth knowledge of profitability, accounting, funds transfer pricing, loan pricing, regulatory best practices (banking and fintech), and compliance (GLBA).
  • Advanced proficiency in SaaS, cloud platforms, data integration tools (APIs, ETL, SQL), and digital product analytics; experience with AI/ML, automation, and modern tech stacks 
  • Superior agile product management, fast prototyping, backlog management, and digital experimentation experience.
  • Strong analytical, growth, and communication skills—including technical storytelling, user-centric design, and multi-project management 
  •  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment that values innovation, compliance, and customer impact equally.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams in complex projects.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.

Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, computer science, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in fintech or financial institution SaaS product management with a track record of digital innovation, compliance integration, and profitable client solutions, specifically in bank or credit union profitability.
