Senior Content Manager

Department: Marketing
Location: Remote
Reports To: VP Marketing

Salary: $79,300-$105,700

Summary Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and versatile content and editorial leader to oversee the Banking Insights & Discussion (BID) newsletter, contribute to PCBB’s wider content program, and manage a team of writers. This role blends editorial management with hands-on writing and content development.
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, this position will manage the BID editorial process from planning all the way through publication, ensuring each piece reflects PCBB’s standards, voice, and strategic objectives. While the BID is a central responsibility, this position also supports broader marketing content needs — developing articles, collateral, whitepapers, nurture content, landing pages, and other materials that advance PCBB’s strategic goals. The role involves close coordination with internal teams and management of a team of external contributors, including freelance writers, writing firms, and copy editors.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Corporate Newsletter (BID):
  • Oversee day-to-day editorial production of the BID, which publishes four articles weekly
  • Write and edit content as needed, contributing original articles and supporting broader marketing content efforts
  • Build and manage the BID editorial calendar and collaborate with the VP of Marketing to align content with strategic goals
  • Grow the BID subscriber base by providing consistent, engaging, high-quality content
  • Review and approve BID article pitches in coordination with Marketing managers
  • Provide editorial oversight and constructive feedback to ensure all BID content is accurate, clear, and on brand
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, sales, and account management teams to ensure BID content supports broader engagement strategies
  • Maintain a balanced mix of product and industry-trending topics that resonate with our audience
  • Work with external experts to develop guest contributions that align with editorial guidelines
  • Communicate proactively to address potential roadblocks and anticipate scheduling or content delivery issues, developing backup plans to support consistent publication
  • Manage external contributors, including freelance writers, writing firms, and copy editors, while ensuring clear guidance and timely delivery
Thought Leadership and Product Content:
  • Develop and write thought leadership and product marketing content — including articles, whitepapers, collateral, nurture content, landing pages, campaign materials, and shareholder communications — in close collaboration with product strategy owners and subject matter experts
  • Write and refine content that supports key marketing initiatives, including campaign messaging, product materials, and other assets needed by the product and marketing teams.
  • Partner with leadership to showcase their expertise through a variety of thought leadership assets
Travel Required:
  • This position will be required to travel on a limited basis, including 1-3 times per year. This will include presence at the annual Sales Meeting, trade conference, team event and/or professional development event
Skills Required:
  • Strong experience managing freelance writers, editors, and external vendors
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple contributors and projects simultaneously
  • Proactive problem-solver who anticipates challenges and develops backup plans
  • Ability to synthesize complex ideas into clear, concise content
  • Effective communicator with a passion for research, storytelling, listening, and continuous learning
  • Comfortable working with executives and subject matter experts
  • Experience working within or supporting the banking industry
  • Skilled at adapting and repurposing content across various channels and formats
  • Detail-driven and committed to meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift
Tool Aptitude Required:
  • Must have:
    • Proficient in Microsoft products, especially Word, Excel
    • Comfortable using email marketing platforms and basic web publishing tools
  • Nice to have:
    • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS)
    • Understanding of current SEO and social media marketing best practices
    • Experience writing content for professional social media platforms (LinkedIn, X [formerly Twitter], Facebook) to amplify content reach
    • Comfortable using AI tools to support writing, research, and editorial workflows
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years related content marketing experience with specific knowledge of the banking/financial industry
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing high-quality, professional writing across both short- and long-form formats
  • Passionate about both big-picture content strategy and hands-on execution, including writing and editing for web and mobile channels
