Junior Accountant

Department: Finance
Location: Remote (Pacific Time Zone preferred)
Reports To: SVP, Controller


Description of Job Duties:
The Junior Accountant performs a variety of routine calculating, posting and verifying tasks, as well as prepares monthly and weekly accounting reports. This position is part of a team that provides general accounting/finance support to the Company.

Duties and responsibilities may include:
  • Completes daily posting activities to the general ledger
  • Completes reconciliations for general ledger accounts, insuring accurate processing and posting of account entries
  • Responsible for activities related to creating, processing and monitoring of accounts payable and accounts receivable for all entities
  • Responsible for monthly invoicing of 50-100 invoices
  • Maintains financial institution accounting records 
  • Assists in data analysis
  • Assists with account research and audit schedules
  • Assists in the preparation of financial and regulatory reports
  • Contribute to enhancing efficiencies of processes and procedures
  • Security portfolio maintenance
  • Internal certifications
  • Performs other duties as assigned
 
Skills Required:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and understanding of banking concepts
  • Strong analytical, verbal, mathematical and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Excel and database report queries
  • Solid work ethic
  • Attention to detail critical
 
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with two years of accounting work experience, or 
  • Two years of college (accounting and finance background) with four years of accounting work experience
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office with strong excel skills
  • Prologue experience a strong plus
