Fixed Income Sales Trader

Department: Hedging Products
Reports to: SVP, Hedging


The Fixed Income Sales Trader position requires an individual who is results-oriented with the ability to function effectively in a high performing team environment with minimal supervision.

Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Identify business opportunities and optimize product performance/engagement
  • Communicate product strategy and solutions to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Structure, price and transact interest rate swaps with client base consisting of community banks
  • Prepare interest rate swap marketing material
  • Prepare counter-party credit approval requests for trade desk transactions
  • Analyze credit approval memos for compliance with key risk and credit parameters
  • Perform high level review of legal documents to ensure the required sections are complete
  • Partner with major business units (Marketing, Sales, and Operations) to support work-flows
  • Perform transaction execution and documentation
  • Analyze and mine both structured and unstructured data to drive product development
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects related to job function

Skills Required:

  • Must have experience transacting fixed income or other capital markets trades, Bloomberg terminal knowledge a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, exceptional, timely and accurate completion of work
  • Quick study and assimilation of complex data
  • Good written and oral communication skills, ability to interact with community banking clients and broker-dealer community
  • Able to deliver data-driven insights to support business decisions
  • Able to track and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable communicating cross-functionally with employees from all levels of the organization
  • Solid understanding of financial analysis and ability to review loan presentations

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or economics preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years banking, finance, credit and/or CRE mortgage related work experience required
  • Derivatives and/or Fixed Income trade desk experience required
  • Spreadsheet macros, database query and data analysis skills
  • Experience with credit approval process
